Doldowlod stands on, what used to be, the Mid-Wales Railway between Builth and Rhayader.
Doldowlod on Wye railway station was opened by the Mid-Wales Railway on 21st September 1864. An arrangement was made with Cambrian Railways on 2nd April 1888 who then took over the line on 24th June 1904. The line later became part of the Great Western Railway.
The station along with the rest of the former Mid Wales Railway line was closed by the British Transport Commission on 31 December 1962 and its track removed.

The Wye Valley Mid-Wales
The family owned park is well established, with 47 privately owned static caravans on a 7 acre site situated a short walk away from the beautiful and majestic River Wye, which starts and runs 155 miles through Mid-Wales all the way to the Severn Estuary.
Rivervale Holidays is ideally situated for all your Mid Wales vacation needs, to explore an amazing landscape and of course, relax and unwind.

Dark Skies
We have Dark Sky Park Status. Due to almost no light pollution you are able to view our solar system like you have never seen before. Very popular with Stargazers and Astro Photographers alike.
Bird Watching
The park is a great retreat for birdwatchers with an abundance of unique feathered friends. Gigrin Farm Red Kite Feeding Centre is just 3 miles up the road. Whether you are a serious bird watcher, or just enjoy watching nature at its best, then Rivervale Holidays at Doldowlod Caravan Park is the place for you to relax and unwind.
Dog Friendly
Rivervale Holidays is dog friendly, we allow well behaved pets in all of our self catering accommodation units (please see our Holiday Lets page for full details). We are ideally situated for amazing walks, on or off the beaten track, with your four legged friends.
Bikes
Bring your bike, whether it be pedal, electric or motor. The roads and scenery are amazing, there are incredible cycle paths to be ridden as soon as you leave the park, Elan Valley being just 5 miles up the road. From off road biking to green lanes and 100’s of miles of national cycle routes and amazing winding roads, you are spoilt for choice!.
Rivervale Holidays is a short walk, cycle or drive from so many great adventures !
